ISDP launches a new joint project on money laundering with the Swedish National Police.
ISDP, together with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and the Asset Recovery Office (ARO) in Sweden have
received funding from SIDA's Baltic Sea Unit for a 15-month joint project. The project is aimed at strengthening
regional cooperation between financial intelligence units and asset recovery offices around the Baltic Sea in
the fight against money laundering. The project will include several meetings and joint activities with the purpose
of improving regional cooperation on money laundering and asset recovery. Representatives from FIU and ARO from Sweden,
Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland will participate in the project. ISDP's role will be to coordinate the
project and to author the final report.

who travelled to Sweden to learn from the successful Swedish experience in drug prevention.

Per Eklund, Svante Cornell and Johanna Popjanevski hosted a seminar
on Strengthening Democratization and Rule of Law in Georgia in Stockholm. The event was attended by leading
representatives from the Georgian ruling party and opposition, as well as representatives from the
international policy sphere.

to host a seminar on the Iran Nuclear Issue - current challenges and possible solutions. The seminar will take place in
late January 2012 in connection with the EU's
Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference at the Institute.

Johanna Popjanevski travelled to Tbilisi, Georgia
to attend the annual Georgian Defence and Security Conference,
organized by the Georgian Ministry of Defence and the office of the Georgian State Minister for European and
Euro-Atlantic integration. During her stay in Tbilisi she also met with state officials in preparation for a
seminar on Georgia's democratization process, held in Stockholm, Sweden in November.

Driven Cooperation, Hanoi, Vietnam.
The project is a collaboration between three European institutes, NIAS, ISDP

to study recent developments in Cross-Strait relations. ISDP held meetings with CICIR, Institute of Taiwan Studies at

Department of Research, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State council and Taiwan research Institute at Xiamen University.

ISDP receives development funding from SIDA for Vietnam project.
ISDP will initiate a new project on partner driven cooperation (PDC) in Vietnam, focusing on agricultural issues,
land policy and other development issues. The project is in cooperation with IPSARD, Lund University and CBS.
The result of the project will be available on ISDP's homepage.

Two new guest researchers arrived in October from the Institute for Disarmament and Peace,
Pyongyang. Mr. Ki Sok So is a senior researcher and Director for the Division of External Affairs
at the Institute for Disarmament and Peace, Pyongyang, DPRK and Mr. Hak Rim Ho is a researcher at the Institute for
Disarmament and Peace, Pyongyang, DPRK. They stayed until November 21, 2011.
